Microsoft hopes that the new integration will revitalize Yammer as an enterprise social network that will help people collaborate more efficiently using “Microsoft’s robust document management and task-management platforms.”

As a major benefit we see that now, with Yammer integration, Office 365 users can create an Office 365 Group using their Outlook email address or Yammer.

How this works: creation of new Yammer Groups will now automatically initiate a new Office 365 Group for maintaining group membership. With the integration, you and the members of your group can readily access shared resources like OneNote notebook, a Planner for task management, a SharePoint Online team site and document library directly from Yammer. And that’s how you get a Office 365 Connected Yammer Group.
