Google has updated the Google Search app with a key new feature. You can now perform searches offline.

To make your search experience even more seamless, the search engine giant, Google, has rolled an update to their search app for smartphones which will accommodate your spotty internet and return results as soon as the connection is good enough.

Of course, Google is neither downloading the entire content of the internet nor operating via dark magic. Instead it will simply queue up your search terms while you’re offline, and notify you about the results later. Once you get data back, it’ll do its thing in the background and load up the search results you craved.

it might seem like a less important feature but when you think about it – imagine this: there are times when we need to look up information about a location while on the subway, but have no signal. By the time we get out of the train, we’rein a hurry and in motion. Being able to have the information already ready is surely a welcome change of pace.

To get this feature on your smartphone, ensure that it’s running on the latest version of the Google app on Android. Get the Google app right here.

And last, but not the least, the company maintains that this feature won’t contribute to your device’s battery drain or delve into your mobile data usage, rather its ‘streamlined search results pages’ use minimal data and power to run.
