Microsoft password-protected files now readable in Google Drive

In Microsoft Office system, you can use passwords to help prevent other people from opening or modifying your documents, workbooks, and presentations. This is what Google ensures by sharing feature in G Suite. Now you can preview password-protected Microsoft Office documents, presentations, and spreadsheets in Drive.

The process is intuitive: when you try to open a password-protected MS Office file in Drive on the web, you’ll be prompted to type in the password and, upon doing so successfully, you’ll see a read-only preview of that document.
