Google+ has become a niche social network for checking out new community topics. It’s not the largest community, but its users are passionate. Today, Google has introduced a new way to find content on Google+ called, Topics.

You can find the new feature hitting Google+ today. For example, here’s the Topic for Black & White Photography, which features some content from across the social network.

Topics feature that will show you targeted content from members

The idea behind Topics is that Google+ users would, in theory, want to read about content from other members that they would not necessarily find on their own. To find Topics in Google+ you’ll see a new ‘Topics to Explore’ card which will start appearing in your feed over the next day or so.Click on any of them and you’ll go to the Topics page with links to all the individual “components” so you can follow them.

Topics can be more of a rabbit hole than it might sound like at first, because once you navigate to a page for a topic, you might see the Topics card in that stream, too. In that sense it can be sort of like Wikipedia, where you flip from one subject to another, to yet another.
