Do you have an event scheduled on Google Calendar? In the latest update to Google Maps, Google has decided to combine certain features of it Calendar app into its Maps app.

On Android, Maps and Calendar are joining forces to give a quick visual reference for where your various appointments will take place.

When a user taps the tab dedicated to this information, he or she will be able to see upcoming events or appointments and add them to the map accordingly so it can provide appropriate directions. What is even more interesting is that Maps can automatically provide directions to the next scheduled event or engagement.

You need to be signed into both apps with the same account, of course, but other than that it all seems pretty easy to set up and use. Just put the event’s address in the “where” box when creating a Calendar entry and you should be good to go according to Google’s Keyword blog.

And you can get directions hands-free!
