Google is launching a new enterprise service for large businesses that want to adopt Chrome OS devices. Chrome Enterprise is designed to be a “single, cost-effective solution” for organizations to “give them the flexibility and control to keep their employees connected“.
You should be careful about the name, which can be misleading; Chrome Enterprise is not about Google Chrome, but about Chrome OS.
For enterprises, the main highlight here is that Chrome Enterprise is fully compatible with their existing on-premise Microsoft Active Directory infrastructure.
Some of the benefits of the Chrome Enterprise subscription include 24/7 enterprise support, managed OS updates and printer management (you may laugh about this last one, but that’s something that still matters in some offices).
