Periodically, Google performs “spring cleaning” and shuts down apps that it sees as redundant or not useful enough. This year, the cleaning has come early and the first to go with it is Picasa, Google’s image organizer and image viewer for organizing and editing digital photos, plus an integrated photo-sharing website. The reason is that it’s becime redundant as Google decides to focus on a much similar product – Google Photos.
