Google teamed up with Harvard and Mayo to build a smart symptom search engine that doesn’t leave you thinking that your headache must be a rare blood disease.
Now you can google symptoms and receive a list of possible conditions and other details. Google worked with doctors to improve search results for medical symptoms.
Google introduced a feature that aims to track down information on medical symptoms. Instead of having to search for a condition, you can search for a certain symptom, such as “my stomach hurts.
So, if a person using Google symptom search took a screenshot of what they read and shared it with their doctor can benefit both sides. Knowing what a patient has read and seen gives us a good starting point for a conversation when visiting your physician.
The next time you use the Google search app for iPhone and Android to look up something like “my tummy hurts,” “skin rash,” or “headache on one side,” you’ll see about a half-dozen digital cards you can swipe through right below the search box. Each of these cards briefly describes a common health problem related to your search term.
