Adding a new contact and its phone number is often done in a hurry and can be quite A drag. Yet, more trouble is when, weeks later, you don’t remember who the person is, let alone which company he or she works for. Now, Google Contacts got linked to Google Maps and will recognize the phone number if the same is listed as a company phone in Google Maps. So, when you see the name and the company, you’ll find it easier to remember what you spoke with that person about.
For the time being, as many new features just started to roll out, this feature is only live inside the contacts desktop web preview, as it’s the web interface pulling in the information live from Maps. So, this stuff won’t show up on your phone – yet.
