LEADING FOOD ADDITIVES PRODUCER IREKS AROMA FLAVORS GOOGLE APPS

Croatian company Ireks Aroma is a successor to Chromos Aroma, a company founded over 50 years ago. As a member of Ireks Group, headquartered in Kulmbach, Germany, Ireks Aroma is a market leader and producer of food additives and chemical industry with wide variety of products including additives for bakeries and meat, tobacco and chemical industries. Ireks Aroma distributes its products mostly through wholesale and occasionally through retail. The company’s modern plants and laboratories are based in Zagreb and Jastrebarsko. Ireks Aroma is a medium size company with over one hundred employees.

Challenge:
Ireks Aroma’s production is in accordance with ISO quality standards and based on HACCP method. The business software used is CRM developed by Croatian software company.
At the time of introducing CRM solution in 2004. the complete IT infrastructure was also set (MS Windows 2003 server, MS SQL server, MS Exchange server, MS ISA server). Communication between the management in Zagreb and factory in Jastrebarsko was in VPN mode with security and antivirus protection.
This solution required numerous working hours spent on administrating the system and it resulted in high level of dissatisfaction among employees. Regardless, downtime was becoming a serious problem and costs were unacceptably high. It was necessary to make certain changes.
Solution:
Google Apps was recognized as the right solution for Ireks Aroma due to it’s flexibility, reliability and security. IT management was adamant about the need to introduce Google Apps and wanted to proceed as soon as possible. The users were migrated all at once and Google Apps were up and running in matter of days.
